We hit the trail early hiking Old Horsethief Trail. This trail takes you by a couple of old mines and a huge blowout that looks like a giant wash out. The trail gets steep and narrow for the first couple of miles. After this the trail is almost easy.
We did a lot of rock hounding and a little mining for gold. We made it back down without falling off the mountain with a pocket full of rocks and maybe a flake of gold.
It was a good day and the weather was perfect. Tim did great on his first day hiking.
