5/28/2018 Kim’s blog post

We went jeeping today on County Rd 31. I know I usually exaggerate, but when I say that the county roads are not maintained like our county roads that’s exactly what I mean. I didn’t think some of them had been traveled before. 🚙. We went up to some old mines and played in the dirt for about an hour, then went riding about four hours. That gold and metal detector had us on a wild goose chase. I thought I’d be making me a necklace before the day was out. Oh no!!! I think we must have been hitting on gold dust! But Ole Jeff was not giving up. I had to pull out my chair and have a seat and a snack. I was protecting him and he didn’t even know it. I was bear watching!! We always have fun! Look at gold miner Jeff go!!

Hit the Jeep trails today.

We hit the Jeep trails this morning. Stopped by a few of the old abandoned gold mines. Kim and I scratched around looking for a couple of nuggets but we about froze to death. We had to get back in the Jeep to warm up.

Kim was getting concerned about the trails being washed out and how deep the creeks were that we had to cross. Then it started snowing again but she was ok because we had food and water this time. We started back down the mountain, Kim wouldn’t let me keep going up. She said we were over 11,000 feet and she couldn’t breathe. The curves in the road and going up and down wore her out. She said she needed a nap to recoup.
