After we made it home from Colorado, the only other trip we have taken was when we left the Sunday before Hurricane Michael (before we knew he would be so devastating to our area). We stayed in Helen GA a week and then the clean up began back home. We haven’t been able to leave since, so this week we made our way to the Florida Keys.
We are in a little campground on mile marker 96 called Key Ventures @96. Great little spot on the water. We gladly left some cooler weather in North Florida and headed out on Sunday, 2/10. We stopped in Homosassa Springs for two nights and then Koreshan State Park in Estero for one night before we made it to this little park. Yesterday we settled in and got Jeff’s bike ready for Scooter. You can see the picture of the classy carrier we have for him.
Today we visited Founder’s Park in Islamorada, which was an incredible park. Took a walk, visited the marina and the dog park area. Next weekend there’s the 24th Annual Gigantic Nautical Flea Market at the park which we will go to. We stopped for lunch at an authentic Cuban restaurant. It was delicious and we will go back. We also went to John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo this afternoon (about 4 miles from us) and it’s such a wonderful state park. We will go back tomorrow and have a picnic, kayak and enjoy the day. More pictures to come later.
**Interesting tidbit. In Koreshan State Park, as we backed into our RV spot the rear tires of the RV just sank to the frame. I honestly thought the muffler was going to go under. We called a tow truck and Jeff didn’t feel so bad when they told him that they have to tow people all of the time out of that rv park because it’s so soft. That particular tow driver had just been there the day before. Poor Jeff…I think he was feeling bad. I know I was feeling bad because I was giving him the direction to come back. Hey, that’s what Coachnet (RV Roadside Assistance) is for. But, all in all it’s been an excellent trip! Much more fun in store the next two weeks!
Til we blog again!

Gorgeous pics! I camped one year during spring break – I think it was Pennekamp. I remember it was right on the water – beautiful.
Does Scooter stay in the little basket on the bike? Love that he rides with you! Looks like a fun, relaxing trip!

He does. We latch a color to both sides and connect in the middle with a clip and attach to his collar just in case he decides to get too wild. But he usually hangs over the side of Jeff to get the breeze and watch me.
